At home with the parents

Photographs taken at home are usually not yet marked by the rush of the wedding day. There is still a little time to stop, experience and preserve the sincere moments that form such an important part of the wedding story. A glance exchanged with the parents, an embrace, a voice breaking with emotion or tears can all carry the feelings of the day so clearly that they can still be felt many years later.

Those tears can represent joy and letting go at the same time: the joy of seeing a child grown up and ready to begin adult life with the person chosen by the heart, and the natural sadness of realising how quickly the years have passed. As a photographer, I consider a quiet, unobtrusive presence especially important at this stage. I do not want to interrupt or stage these emotions; I prefer to observe them and preserve them as they happen.

For me, photographing the wedding at the family home is therefore not simply documentation of the preparations. It is the honest and emotional preservation of part of a family’s story. At weddings in Târgu Mureș and towns and villages across Mureș County, these family moments often become some of the most personal photographs of the entire day, because they speak about roots, closeness and the final shared minutes before setting out.
